5 Tips When Moving to Nashville

Planning to move to Nashville?

Here are our 5 tips to make your move to Music City a good one!

#1 Determine your budget.

You’ll need to know what your living costs will be before you move.

For example, did you know an average one-bedroom apartment in Nashville is $1100 a month? Or how about a home? IN 2021, the average home price in the Nashville area is $350k. Looking for a nice outing. Plan on spending $43 for a dinner for two.

If you’re a family of 4, you’ll likely spend over $4k in monthly living expenses. And if you’re single, it will probably be about half that per month.

#2. Pick a neighborhood.

The other thing to consider when moving to Nashville is picking a neighborhood. Each neighborhood has it’s pros and cons and you’ll want to consider all the factors before making a move including budgeting, crime rates, work commute, and transportation as well as schools.

Some of our most popular neighborhoods are 12 South, East Nashville, The Gulch, and Brentwood. But there are a lot to choose from.

#3. Be knowledgeable about the traffic.

Be sure to get a full understanding of the traffic situation before picking a location. For example, a morning commute can be drastically changed due to congestion on I40 which can slow you down at a rate as low as 11 mph.

But still, a car is your best bet. If you don’t have a car, you’ll need to consider living in a neighborhood close to Downtown or Midtown for adequate transportation.

#4. Where will you work?

Consider where you’ll work. Nashville has employment options aplenty ranging from healthcare to tech, to entertainment!

#5. Moving Crew and Labor

And lastly, don’t forget to look into finding the best mover available! Be sure to get referrals from friends, check with the Better Business Bureau, and don’t forget to get multiple estimates.
