Our 2021 Nashville Book Bag Giveaway was a huge success!

For several months we’ve been diligently collecting school supplies, gathering donations, and getting the word out about our Back to School effort. Customers, friends, neighbors, and local business owners generously donated and contributed to this initiative. Our goal was to send more than 200 underserved kids back to school with free book bags and school supplies.

On Saturday, August 7, 2021, we set up our truck at Flash Me Experience in Nashville, TN full of school supplies and invited families from the neighborhood to hang out with us. We had free hot dogs and drinks, face painting, and school supplies galore.

The kids and their parents had a great time! The backpack giveaway was a huge success. We gave out over 400 backpacks, provided free food, live performances, face painting, games & many giveaways.

We had some school supplies left over, so we were able to pay it forward by sending them to a community organization that had a backpack drive the following day. Several parents said that they had one less thing to stress over because of the giveaway!

Starting our future generation off on the right foot with their education, even if it’s something as small as a book bag filled with school supplies, is a big deal.

According to a research agency, 21.5% of children  in Davidson County are below the federal poverty line. A typical backpack and school supplies can range from $35 to $70. For low income families, there’s not enough money left over for these basic school essentials and our children are left with inadequate supplies for their education. When these supplies are not available in the home, homework often goes undone.

With your help, we were able to make a positive impact on these families and send children to school equipped with the necessary supplies they need to excel in school.

These school supplies will help aid in the kids’ self-esteem, emotional stability, and educational growth.
